10 districts report no fresh COVID-19 case; 64 new cases reported, positive cases reach 125045

SRINAGAR, Feb 15: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 64 new cases of COVID-19 following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 25,045. As many as 10 districts of the union territory reported no fresh case in the past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 35 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district eight cases, Pulwama district five cases, Baramulla, Budgam, Shopian and Udhampur districts three cases each, Kulgam district two cases and Anantnag & Bandipora districts one case each. No case was reported from Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Poonch, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 64 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 11 from Jammu division and 53 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,405.
Moreover, 69 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 10 from Jammu division and 59 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,405 positive cases, 617 are active positive, 1, 22,837 have recovered and 1,951 have died; 725 in Jammu division and 1,226 in Kashmir division.
Out of 48, 68,541 test results available, 47, 43,136 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 12, 23,192 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 33,832 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 617 in isolation and 1, 07,314 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 79,478 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,564 positive cases, 230 active positive, 25,874 recovered, 460 deaths; Baramulla has 8,161 positive cases, 29 active positive, 7,957 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,825 positive cases, 37 active positive, 7,670 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,793 positive cases, 36 active positive, 5,669 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,671 positive cases, six active positive, 5,569 recovered, 96 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,960 positive cases, 41 active positive, 4,833 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,704 positive cases, 14 active positive, 4,628 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,660 positive cases, 31 active positive, 4,582 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,711 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,643 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,587 positive cases, 18 active positive, 2,529 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,097 positive cases, 85 active positive, 24,639 recovered, 373 deaths; Udhampur has 4,239 positive cases, 26 active positive, 4,156 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,873 positive cases, four active positive, 3,814 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,436 positive cases, six active positive, 3,366 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, 3,203 recovered, 53 deaths.
"Samba has 2,835 positive cases, nine active positive, 2,786 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,733 positive cases, one active positive, 2,710 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,519 positive cases, 24 active positive, 2,471 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,646 positive cases, six active positive, 1,624 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,405 positive cases in J&K, 11,956 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
