Attack on Police team in Bishnah, 6 notorious smugglers arrested | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: Special Police teams constituted by DIG JKS Range have apprehended six persons involved in yesterday's murderous attack on a Police team led by SHO Bishnah. The Police team was going to nab the cattle smugglers, when they attacked the team in which SHO and other members of the team were critically injured. Sources said that after the incident late yesterday night a high level meeting was chaired by DIG Jammu and SSP Jammu following which a strategy was chalked to arrest the attackers. "On the directions of DIG and SSP Jammu, eight Police teams were constituted. Till this morning, six notorious criminals have been arrested while Police teams are still on job nab all the persons involved in this attack. All arrested persons are from Baziru Chak area of Bishnah", a senior officer said, adding that many senior officers are camping in Bishnah. On the basis of specific information about cattle smuggling, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO rushed to Lalyana area, when the team came under heavy attack by the smugglers. "SHO Bishnah Inspector Tahir Yousuf was critically injured in the attack, while Sub Inspector Pawan Kumar also had a fracture in his hand, other members of the Police team also received minor injuries in the attack. The cattle smugglers managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness", the officer said. Police authorities have deployed Inspector Anil Choudhary as in charge of SHO Bishnah. |
