Court grants 14 day police remand of second accused in IED recovery case | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: Special Judge NIA Suneet Gupta today granted 14 days police remand of Oazi Waseem R/O Shupdani, Pulwama who was arrested by police in IED recovery case. Today SDPO City North Satish Sharma produced the accused before the Court and seeking police remand of the accused. Special Judge NIA Sunit Gupta after hearing SDPO in person and gone through the application which reveals that the above named accused was arrested on 14.02.2021 in case/FIR NO.05/2021 Police Station Bus Stand. Jammu Offences u/ss 4/5 Explosive Act.18/23/38/ UA(P) Act & 120-B IPC. The presence of the accused has been secured through virtual mode and I do not find any kind of external injury on his face or body. The accused is found to be medically examined by the medical officer today, itself and the medical certificate in this regard is also form the part of the remand application. The accused has been duly conveyed with regard to his legal rights. Since the matter is heinous in nature and some important aspects are required to be ascertained in the instant case for which police remand of the accused is required for the purpose of further investigation. Hence, the petition is allowed and accused is remanded to the police custody for 14 days w.e.f. 15-02-2021. —JNF |
