National Conference sidelines senior leader | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 1: In a major shock for the party leadership, the National Conference has allegedly sidelined one of its senior most leaders. Sources said the party has not been in "good terms" with the said leader who is also a prominent lawmaker from north Kashmir. Sources said the party leadership is of the opinion that the said lawmaker has "not been able to come up to the expectations" of the National Conference in the deliverance of his duties. As per the insides, for the last over a year and a half, the said leader "has been more concerned about his own personal interest than that of the party." Sources said the said leader is also accused of "having played bad politics" which led to the breaking apart of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration. Sources said the party has received complaints that the said leader and some of his family members played a role that led to eruption of differences between the Gupkar lobby." Sources said Peoples Conference, President, Sajad Lone while parting ways with the Gupkar alliance had hinted that at the "role played" by the said leader. Sources said the differences between the leader and the NC only furthered in the last few months. It was reliably learnt that the performance of the said leader would be scrutinized at a high level meeting to be chaired by the former Chief Minister and party patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah. Sources said the said leader would be put to a "trial" before some of his colleagues to decide "future course of action." "After the abrogation of the special status in particular, he (the said leader) either prefers silence or is busy with his own family," said a politician on the condition of anonymity. Despite repeated attempts the said leader was not available for comments.
