3/1/2021 11:35:33 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, Mar 1: With the Peoples Conference having come to spotlight for supporting the spouse of a former Peoples Democratic Party to get a key role to affairs of a north Kashmir district, sources said she was being made "a big offer" by the PC.
It was reliably learnt that the PC leadership is in regular contact with the husband-wife duo who left the PDP a few months ago.
Sources said while the husband was already being offered a key position in the PC, now his wife is also being offered a prominent role for the party from north Kashmir.
Sources said the couple from north Kashmir and the top leaders of the PC enjoy good relations and look ahead to be partners for any electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, it was reliably learnt, that the PC leaders want the wife of the former PDP leader to join their party at an earliest.
Sources said the PC leaders have told the husband of the said leader that he may be having issues to join their party but that he should make a beginning by making his wife lead the party from north Kashmir.
Sources said apart from regular telephonic conversation between the two groups, some of the senior leaders of the PC have visited the residence of the PDP leader to hold "result oriented" discussions on this front.
Sources said the PC leadership believes that the couple can give a new lease of to their party in north Kashmir especially in Baramulla district.
"They (PC) already have good hold on the Kupwara district and if Baramulla also comes to their control they will be a strong voice from north Kashmir and that is what the party aims at," said a politician privy to the details.
Despite repeated attempts, the husband wife duo was not available for comments.
But a PC leader confirmed to Early Times that the party enjoys good relations with the couple and appreciate their political career.
