JAMMU, Mar 8: A PDD official posted in Rajouri, facing FIRs, is drawing his salary without performing his duties for the last over a decade under patronage of his corrupt bosses.
According to a copy of complaint addressed to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) by elected representatives, it has been alleged that the PDD official Kulbir Singh posted in the office of Executive Engineer, PDD Rajouri, has been getting salary without performing his official duties for the last 20 years.
In the complaint signed by 33 villagers, Salma Choudhary Sarpanch, Ahmed Bi Niab Sarpanch, Kulbir Singh Nambardar and Pashori Lal Chowkidar of Godhar Panchayat of Dhangri Block of district Rajouri have sought action against the official in question as well the officers of the department who are releasing his salary without performing any duty.
“The official is posted in the office of Executive Engineer PDD Division Rajouri for the last 20 years. He owns a commercial (passenger) vehicle, with registration no. JK-11A-3966, he himself drives his vehicle the entire day from Potha to Rajouri and vice-versa”, revealed the copy of complaint.
“The official has in connivence with some officers, who are marking his attendance regularly, reportedly it can be verified from the agents who board passengers in the vehicle”, claimed the above-named elected representatives from Godhar Panchayat in their complaint and added, “some senior officers of the PDD causing huge loss to state exchequer by marking attendance of absent official.
“We appeal, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan to kindly withhold salary of absent employees and as well the officers who are releasing salaries of absent official”, they added.
They further said that the official is also facing trial in multiple cases against him under various sections of RPC. “He is booked under section 323, 325, 504, 506 RPC vide FIR no 79/2016, dated 29/10/2016 and several other cases'', they said, adding that copies of FIRs registered against the official have been attached with the complaint.
They further alleged that the official is a master of implicating innocent people in fake cases. “Higher authorities should secretly conduct a survey in the Godhar area to cross check the claims made in the complaint”, they added.
XEn PDD Division Rajouri, Narotam Kumar when contacted said he would take cognizance of the matter. “I’m not aware of this case as I recently joined here. But certainly, I will check it in the morning. If the allegations found true, action as per rule will be initiated against the erring officials”, he said, adding absenteeism or release of salary through back door, would not be allowed.
