Col SS Pathania, (retd) ,President Sainik Samaj Party, JKUT expressed his pain and anguish, on the pathetic state of infrastructure and no shooting range in JKUT, for last 73 years. This is unimaginable, that how the successive governments have ignored such important sport and demonstrated total apathy, indifference and a lackluster approach, towards promotion of sports and empowerment of youth. Pathania, complimented Kuldip Jamwal, President Shooting Federation JKUT and his team for organizing a shooting competition, at Zorawar Singh Shooting club at Dogra law College, BD Bari, where young shooters, gave a wonderful performance. He also complimented Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak and his sons, Samar and Ghambhir for setting up a shooting range, which can take on the conduct of UT level competition. It was heartening to know, while interacting with Kuldip Jamwal, that inspite the handicap of no shooting range, infrastructure and inadequate coaching facilities, our young and talented shooters have won 50 medals, in national competition, so far. Pathania, also suggested that shooting federation of JKUT, must see the feasibility of organizing talent hunt in rural areas and after due screening process, selected shooter can be given, structured training and coaching at Zorawar Shooting, Club, enabling them to win medals at international events. |
