| Hamilton bridge renamed as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur city bridge | | |  ANKIT KESSAR

RAJOURI, Mar 9: In a first, municipal council Rajouri have started to rename some bridges of Rajouri town giving them a name of some prominent socio-religious personalities of the area.
In its first, the bridge located on road between Rajouri main bus stand and Jammu Rajouri Poonch national highway has been renamed as Banda Singh Bahadur city bridge replacing it's decades old name of Hamilton bridge.
In an official statement, municipal council Rajouri said that on the direction of Chairman Advocate Mohammad Arif, the name of Hamilton bridge has been renamed to the son of soil and a great saint, historic personality Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and bridge has been renamed as Banda Singh Bahadur city bridge Rajouri.
General publice of Rajouri demanded this for a long time and several civil as well as social activist of Rajouri demanded for naming the bridge before Banda Singh Bahadur instead of Hamilton, statement reads.
Chairman MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arif congratulated the general public of Rajouri and Poonch for fulfilling the long pending demands of our region. |
