| GDC Poonch celebrates International Women’s Day | | |

Poonch, Mar 9: A grand program was organized to celebrate International Women’s Day by the Sexual Harassment Cell in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Cell of Govt Degree College Poonch. Ramesh Angral SSP Poonch was the chief guest of the occasion whereas the Principal of the college Prof M. H. Shah presided over the function.
A large no of students presented their views on the topic "Rights of women: Guarantees and Realities" beside retired principals of the institution and prominent citizens also spoke on the occasion. Students were judged by Dr Farooq Ahmed HOD Zoology of GDC Poonch, Dr Bagh Hussain HOD Botany GDC Mendhar and Dr Mohammed Shafiq HOD Mathematics from GDC Mendhar. Miss Rukshana Koser Of Sem 3rd stood Ist followed by Miss Farzana & Touseef Tantray of Sem. 3rd who fetched 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
SSP Poonch Ramesh Kumar Angral in his address lauded the College Administration in general and Women Empowerment Cell in particular for organising such an important. program which is the need of hour. Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah former Principal GDC Mendhar came all the way from Jammu to deliverer an everlasting lecture on the occasion.
Media fraternity was also felicitated for the coverage and wider publicity with Appreciation Certificates for their hard work and passion. |
