Srinagar, Mar 10 Politicians, including two former chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah and Apni Party (AP) president greeted members of the Kashmir pandits, who are celebrating herath, the most important festival, on Thursday after night-long prayers in their homes. In his greeting message Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said, ''Kashmir miss your (Pandits) presence and is incomplete without you.'' ''May all your prayers be answered on the occasion,'' she added. National Conference (NC) vice-president (VP) Omar also greeted the community and said have a blessed day. Kashmiri pandits are celebrating the festival tomorrow after night-long prayers. Meanwhile, AP President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also extended warm greetings to the people especially Kashmir Pandit community all over the country over the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. In a statement here, Bukhari said Maha Shivratri holds a special place in the history, culture and pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir. "The fervour with which Maha Shivratri is celebrated here in J&K is a testimony to the impeccable communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. I warmly greet our Hindu brethren especially the Pandit Community on this auspicious occasion. I pray that on this sacred occasion may peace, prosperity and progress prevail in our region," he said. |
