Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 15: Activists of the Mahila Congress staged a protest at Jammu on Monday against rising petrol, diesel and LPG prices and demanded the resignation of Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who has failed to control prices of both the commodities. The protest demonstration was held under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress president and ex-MLA Indu Pawar. Shouting slogans against BJP led NDA government for its failure to control prices of essential commodities, Mahila Congress activists regretted that prices of essential commodities were increasing with every passing day. Taking jibe at BJP for its fake poll slogans, Mahila Congress activists shouted, "Abki Baar Petrol 100 Ke Paar" and "Modi Hai Toh Mehngayi Hai". Addressing the agitating activists, Pawar said that during the last one year prices of petroleum products have been going unabated but those at the helm of the affairs appeared to the unconcerned over unending woes of the poor masses. She reminded that BJP leaders BJP leaders who used to protest over prices of petrol and diesel have kept mum now. "The prices of petrol have touched Rs 100 per litre in many parts of the country and the Modi government is doing nothing to provide relief to the people," she said. The Petroleum Minister should step down if he cannot keep the prices of petrol and diesel in check, she said.
