2 yrs on, Govt Middle School Patta headless | | | Ajay Sharma Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15: Tall claims of the Education Department to streamline the functioning of the government schools in the region have remained confined to papers only. According to the details available with Early Times Govt Middle School Patta, tehsil Pouni in Reasi district has been functioning without a headmaster for the past two years. “The department has not been able to fill up the post of the headmaster despite our repeated requests,” locals said. They said that there are more than 80 students enrolled in the school. “In absence of the headmaster, teachers work according to their whims and wishes as they are not accountable to anyone,” locals added. They alleged that Education Department has forgotten this school and the officials seem least bothered about making the system work. “Our children have suffered a lot after the outbreak of COVID-19 we don’t want them to suffer more. Post of the headmaster should be filled forthwith,” locals said. When contacted Chief Education Officer Reasi told Early Times that he would look into the matter and “post of headmaster will be filled soon.” |
