jehangir rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 15: The Jammu division of union territory of Jammu & Kashmir continues to show significant achievement in COVID-19 management as nine districts of the division reported no fresh case in the past 24 hours even if the total number of positive cases reached 1, 27,734 following 94 new cases. Srinagar district reported 49 new cases of Corona Virus including 20 travelers followed by Kupwara district 13 cases, Jammu district nine cases, Budgam district seven cases, Baramulla and Pulwama districts six cases each, Anantnag district two cases and a case each in Ganderbal & Kulgam districts. No case was reported from Udhampur, Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban, Reasi, Bandipora and Shopian districts. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 94 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), nine from Jammu division and 85 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 27,734. Moreover, 77 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 12 from Jammu division and 65 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 27,734 positive cases, 937 are active positive, 1, 24,823 have recovered and 1,974 have died; 730 in Jammu division and 1,244 in Kashmir division. Out of 55, 81,500 test results available, 54, 37,766 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 13, 94,138 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29,725 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 937 in isolation and 1, 17,749 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 43,753 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 27,620 positive cases, 440 active positive, 26,716 recovered, 464 deaths; Baramulla has 8,399 positive cases, 91 active positive, 8,131 recovered, 177 deaths; Budgam has 7,980 positive cases, 62 active positive, 7,798 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,908 positive cases, 28 active positive, 5,788 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,723 positive cases, 24 active positive, 5,602 recovered, 97 deaths. "Anantnag has 5,087 positive cases, 25 active positive, 4,971 recovered, 91 deaths; Bandipora has 4,727 positive cases, 11 active positive, 4654 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,688 positive cases, 17 active positive, 4,624 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,752 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,684 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,622 positive cases, 16 active positive, 2,566 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,407 positive cases, 168 active positive, 24,862 recovered, 377 deaths; Udhampur has 4,324 positive cases, six active positive, 4,261 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,879 positive cases, two active positive, 3,822 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,440 positive cases, two active positive, 3,374 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,271 positive cases, four active positive, 3,214 recovered, 53 deaths. "Samba has 2,843 positive cases, four active positive, 2,798 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,739 positive cases, one active positive, 2,716 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,533 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,496 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,657 positive cases, nine active positive, 1,632 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 27,734 positive cases in J&K, 12,669 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
