Court frames corruption charges against EO LAWDA | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 15: Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar framed charges against Shah Skinder Khan Enforcement Officer LAWDA in illegal construction case. According to the ACB that accused No. 1 while his posting as Enforcement Officer LAWDA from 03.02.2014 to 01.05.2015, in complete disregard to his official position, pursuant to the conspiracy with accused No. 2, permitted him to raise illegal construction of a double storied concrete tin roofed house with plinth 3934 Sqft at Ishber Nishat without requisite permission from competent authority in this regard, to bestow undue benefit on accused No. 2 & for his personal gain. He further argued that accused No. 1 slept over the information of his subordinate enforcement staff with regard to illegal construction w.e.f. 20.09.2014 to 31.12.2015. He further argued that the accused No. 1 being criminally silent about the matter compelled Supervisor concerned to directly inform the then VC, LAWDA, who took cognizance and ordered demolition on 27th & 28th of September, 2014. Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar RN Wattal after hearing both the sides it is crystal clear that evidence collected against the accused during investigation leads to definite conclusion that there are reasonable grounds for believing that accused have committed the offences U/S 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) of P. C. Act & Section 120-B RPC as indicated in the FIR. The accused No. 1 present in the court is charged for the commission of the offences u/s 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) P.C. Act and Section 120-B of RPC accordingly. The contents of charge were read over and explained to him, he denied to have committed the aforementioned offences and prayed for trial. —JNF |
