Congress stooping low for electoral gains: Kavinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 15: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday slammed Congress over stooping so low in its apparently unfruitful attempt to win in states going for polls. In a statement issued here, the senior BJP functionary said that it is unfortunate for Congress party that it is working in such a despicable manner just for ensuring edge in the upcoming polls. He said that in Kerala it has gone astray by falling in line with Muslim League, which is inclined to divisive agenda and in Assam also this party has lowered its ethical standards by allowing collusion with All India United Democratic Front, which is supporting illegal immigrants tooth and nail. "Surprisingly, this was not enough as in West Bengal also it has tie-up alliance with a party having questionable background", Gupta said, adding that it is dilemma for the country that a party which used to be on the top has stooped so low that it is doing such a cheap jugglery to sustain its existence. The senior BJP leader said that Congress has resorted to a low level of politics after it failed to cope with the popularity of BJP and its nationalist leadership which has won the hearts of people by rendering selfless service round the clock and containing corruption as never before. He categorically said that time has changed and the Congress party can no longer hoodwink people by its old formula of divide and rule. "Now the people have become smart enough and they can gauge instantaneously that what is right for them and what is not so Congress is feeling handicapped and doing things which are quite below the perceived standards of ethics and morality as far as a political party is concerned", he maintained adding that all this would not take this more than century old party to anywhere rather it will further deteriorate its prospects in the poll bound states. Talking of J&K, the former Deputy Chief Minister said the Congress leadership here also has gone haywire after PM Narendra Modi has taken up the charge of the country in 2014. |
