Jammu, Mar 15: Election of the President and the General Secretary of Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha J&K (Regd) was announced in January 2021 and concluded on 14-3-2021. Chairman of the Election Committee announced the results in which for President, a total of 191 votes were cast out of 261. Shashi Verma , the contesting candidate for the post of President scored 104 votes, and was elected as President. The runners up were Raj Kumar Chalotra with 45 votes and Kuldeep Chalotra with 38 votes. 4 votes were declared invalid. For general secretary , there were two candidates in fray. Total votes polled were 191 out which two were declared invalid. Vijay Kumar, who won the election, scored 97 votes and runner up was Joginder Angotra who scored 92 votes , thus making the contest very close. The election was due in December 2020 as the five years tenure of Shashi Verma was complete. The election for the President and the General Secretary was conducted as per the procedure and methods laid down in the Sabha constitution. The Election Committee was Advocate Amarjeet Chargotra – Chairman, Balwant Kataria, Ravi Kant Verma, Ashok Goutam, Master Pritam Verma and Master Krishan Sabharwal- Members.
