| Extension Lecture organised in GDC Surankote | | |

Surankote Mar 16: The NSS unit of Government Degree College Surankote organised an extension lecture today on March 16th as part of the Annual NSS Camp being organised in this institution. Prof. Rani Mughal, HOD Botany and Coordinator Women Empowerment Cell, Government Degree College Poonch was the resource person. She excellently highlighted the motto of NSS ,"not me but you “ and informed the young volunteers that this motto is seen very rarely especially in our rural Pir Panjal range. “The Role of NSS is to volunteer yourself to provide service to the humanity without any prejudice and self interest. But why is that we don’t have a handful of examples.”
She further elaborated that in rural Pir Panjal region we find individuals who fail to acquire any other so called prestigious positions become teachers and fiddle with the lives of our youth and our students who are going to bear the burden of our future. A teacher’s role in the lives of students is critical. Teachers not only gives them information but also influence their characters.
Dr Jasbir Singh, worthy Principal of the college presided over the function. He also highlighted the importance of NSS and the role of young volunteers. He encouraged the participants to eat healthy. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and healthy food is essential. Avoid stress, practice your religion and stay happy.
The programme was conducted by Mr Musharraf Bukhari and Aquib Awan. Dr Syed Wajahat Hussain NSS Programme Officer presented formal vote of thanks .
