Srinagar, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory government has ordered transfer of Senior IAS Officer and Inspector General Registration Pawan Kotwal to Ladakh UT. According to the order in possession of early times, the government said, “In the interest of administration, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS (JK: 1994), Inspector General of Registration, J&K, is transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the UnionTerritory of Ladakh for further posting”. It is to mention here that last month the government recalled two IAS officers from Lakdakh and deputed as many others to the UT. Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary, IAS , Deputy Commissioner, Kargil and Sachin Kumar Vaishy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Leh were recalled from Union territory of Ladakh to the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Consequently Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary was asked to report to the General Administration Department for further posting. Sachin Kumar Vaishy was posted as Deputy Commissioner, Shopian while Suse, was transferred and deputed to Ladakh with immediate effect. Also, Santosh Sukhadeve—IAS SubDivisional Magistrate, Mahore, holding additional charge of Sub-Registrar, Mahore, was transferred and deputed to the Ladakh. The Government last year had also placed the services of over 100 officials of different departments at the disposal of the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh on deputation basis for a period of two years. It is to mention here that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) last year had shot off letters to several government departments to seek the consent of officials willing to be posted to the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The letter sent to ministries and departments of railways, defence, commerce, customs and excise, posts and telecommunications had said that “The new Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh are beset with acute shortage of officers.” |
