JK reports 2204 new positive cases, 135430 recovered so far

JAMMU, Apr 21: The Government on Wednesday informed that 2204 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 905 from Jammu division and 1299 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 152442. Also 13 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 10 from Jammu Division and 03 from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 733 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 254 from Jammu Division and 479 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 152442 positive cases, 14928 are Active Positive, 135430 have recovered and 2084 have died; 781 in Jammu division and 1303 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 6877526 test results available, 6725084 samples have been tested as negative till 21stApril, 2021.
Till date 1700503 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 71347 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 14928 in isolation and 127043 in home surveillance. Besides, 1485101 persons have completed their surveillance period. Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 36332 positive cases (including 612 cases reported today) with 4833 Active Positive, 31007 recovered (including 257 cases recovered today), 492 deaths; Baramulla has 10939 positive cases (including 232 cases reported today)with 1258 Active Positive, 9497 recovered (including 102 cases recovered today), 184 deaths; Budgam reported 9245 positive cases (including 102 cases reported today)with 622 active positive cases, 8500 recovered (including 33 cases recovered today), 123 deaths; Pulwama has 6501 positive cases (including 64 cases reported today)with 393 Active Positive, 6013 recovered (including 13 cases recovered today)and 95 deaths; Kupwara has 6261 positive cases (including 65 cases reported today), 309 Active Positive, 5853 recoveries (including 25 cases recovered today) , 99 deaths; Anantnag district has 5749 positive cases (including 61 cases reported today)with 375 Active Positive, 5273 recovered (including 32 cases recovered today), 101 deaths; Bandipora has 5053 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today), with179 Active Positive, 4811 recoveries, 63 deaths; Ganderbal has 4999 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today)225 Active Positive, 4725 recoveriesand49deaths; Kulgam has 3379 positive cases (including 109 cases reported today)with 417 Active Positive, 2905 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today)and 57 deaths while as Shopian has 2783 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today),101 active positive cases, 2642 recoveries(including 08 cases recovered today) and 40 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 30202 positive cases (including 461 cases reported today) with 3653 active positive cases, 26138 recoveries (including 104 cases recovered today), 411 deaths; Udhampur has 5394 positive cases (including 52 cases reported today), 359 active positive cases, 4976 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today)and59 deaths; Rajouri has 4193 positive cases (including 41 cases reported today)with 266 active positive, 3870 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today)and 57 deaths; Doda has 3561 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today)with 66 Active positive, 3431 recovered (including 02 cases recovered today) and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3988 positive cases (including 127 cases reported today), 399 active positive cases, 3534 recovered (including 21 cases recovered today) and 55 deaths; Kishtwar has 2831 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today)with 39 Active Positive, 2770 recoveries and 22 deaths; Samba has 3178 positive cases (including 51 cases reported today)with 279 active positive cases, 2854 recoveries and 45 deaths; Poonch has 2688 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today)with121 active positive, 2538 recoveries (including 07 cases recovered today) 29 deaths; Ramban has 2291 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today)with 108 active positive cases, 2160 recoveries and 23 deaths while Reasi has 2875 positive (including 133 cases reported today)with 926 active positive cases, 1933recoveries (including 106 cases recovered today) and 16 deaths. According to the bulletin, among the total 152442 positive cases in J&K, 17769 have been reported as travellers while 134673 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing. The bulletin added that there are 1109 COVID dedicated beds, 972 Isolation beds with 674 vacant beds and 137 ICU beds where 68 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 1511 COVID dedicated beds, 1400 Isolation beds where 914 beds are vacant and 111 ICU beds where 87 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 2620 COVID dedicated beds, 2372 Isolation beds with 1588 beds vacant and 248 ICU beds with 155 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
