District Admin Poonch hell bent to defeat PMBJP scheme | 2 years on, medical store shut by admin not being opened | | RAJESH TANDON
EARLY TIMES REPORT
POONCH, Apr 21: The district administration Poonch it seems is hell bent upon to defeat central government flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), envisaged to provide medicines to people on reasonable prices, as a shop opened under this scheme was shut by administration on flimsy ground. Sources told Early Times that it has been two years since the shop has been lying closed but more shockingly despite court stay order secured by the owner of the shop, it is not allowed to be opened. Speaking to Early times, the aggrieved owner of PMBJP shop owner Amit Kumar said that he got permission to open the medical store after completing all formalities, which was granted by the Poonch administration during the tenure of the then Deputy Commissioner Poonch “I got permission to open a medical store in December 2018 but suddenly in October 2019, I received a notice from Medical Superintendent Poonch to shut the store but the reason was not mentioned in the notice,” he said. He further said that he got a stay order from the Court but the then DC Poonch didn’t honour the stay order and threatened him to lodge FIR against him if he dared to open the store. “There are medicines worth Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh in my store, which have now expired due to closure of the store. Although new DC has allowed to open the store but the MS Poonch has been creating hurdles as he is not letting it open. MS Poonch has said that he will allow opening the store only if he withdraws the court case. Although I asked my terms to enter an agreement that no hurdle will be created once I withdraw my case but MS Poonch denied,” he said. He said that he had been facing huge difficulty as he had to pay salary to two employees who were hired for the store. “I have been paying Rs 5000 each as salary and I have been paying loan installments of Rs 16000 per month as I had availed loan of Rs 9 lakhs from bank. Due to closure of my business I have been going through a tough phase,” he lamented. He alleged that his store under PMBJP was shut by administration under the influence of the drug mafia. When the reporter interacted with the former DC, he said that the reply was submitted in the court and health department will clarify on this matter. |
