Bhaderwah emerging as good film shooting destination: CEO BDA

KATRA, Apr 21: Bhaderwah is emerging as a leading film, television and web series shooting destination, said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) Dr Rajinder Khajuria.
CEO BDA, Khajuria said this while speaking in an interaction programme organized by Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra (HRAK) for promotion of Bhaderwah wherein people associated with tourism, hotels, travels, media and transport were also present.
Referring to Bhaderwah’s potential for film shooting, Khajuria informed that latest in the series shootings of film Uri, Television serial Mata ki Chowki, web series Love & Peace, Aalingan and Fauda were held here or recently in progress, adding that Bhaderwah will emerge as one of the leading tourist destinations of India.
He further said that topography of Bhaderwah in particular while Doda and Kishtwar districts in general is best suitable for carrying adventure activities like white water rafting, paragliding, rock climbing, zip lining, river crossing, snow & dark forest trekking,fun skiing etc. He said soon as already announced a direct J&K State Road Transport Corporation bus service between Katra to Bhaderwah and back would be started and asked the stakeholders for promoting it vigorously.
Rakesh Wazir, President HRAK while speaking on the occasion said that Katra-Patnitop-Bhaderwah can emerge as good Tourist Circuit and if we will remain successful in diverting just 10% of Vaishnodevi ji pilgrims to Bhaderwah the economy of whole Union Territory can increase many folds and can provide employment to lakhs and lakhs of people.
Ambika, Asstt Director Tourism asked all the stakeholders connected with tourism for promotion of Bhaderwah so that stay of yatris may increase in Union Territory.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, former President HRAK, Virender Kesar Senior Vice President HRAK and Ajay Kotwal Vice President HRAK, Narayan Sharma President Taxi operators Union, President Vans Association Manohar Sharma, besides representatives from Banihal Route Bus Union and Karan Travels also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ali Jaffery Head Sales & Marketing Skyview Patnitop, Devender Purohit, Amit Sharma and Ashish Sharma.
