Jammu, May 8: Government Degree College, R.S Pura organized an online Lecture on the Topic “Duggar Sanskriti Te Dogri Bhasha” to celebrate India’s rich culture and Heritage as part of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the College and Supervision of Dr. Anuradha, Convener Cultural Committee in collaboration with Department of Dogri. The event started with the welcome address by Dr. Sheetal Devi, Department of Dogri. Dr. Sandeep Dubey, Assistant Professor, Department of Dogri, University of Jammu was the guest speaker on the occasion. In his informative lecture, he talked about the growth of Dogri Literature. Dogri has a old tradition of oral literature but there exists rich treasure in written texts in form of folk songs, folk tales, riddles, proverbs, idioms etc. Dogri literature depicts the various aspects of rich Dogra Culture. Dogra Culture in its pristine form is very earthly as it consists of diverse people from plains, forests, mountains, tribes, non-tribes and much more. Dr Dubey encouraged the students to read Dogri Literature so that they may know our glorious culture and history. The lecture was concluded with formal vote of thanks by worthy principal of the college to the resource person, faculty members and participating students.
