KATHUA, May 8: Taking cognizance of ‘illegal’ hoardings installed at various locations in Lakhanpur, the Director Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) Jammu get removed the hoardings.
Early Times recently carried a story regarding loss to the Municipal Committee (MC) Lakhanpur, as without tender, a contractor was running the show.
On the directions of Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu, a team of MC Lakhanpur today removed all the hoardings. Not only this, the district administration has also sought reply from MC after publication of the story in Early Times.
President of MC Lakhanpur, Ravinder Sharma when contacted by this scribe said that he was not much aware about the hoardings’ works.
“Presently, Executive Officer, Kathua Daleep Abrol is holding additional charge of MC Lakhanpur and he can tell the exact story”, he added.
However, EO MC Lakhanpur, Daleep Abrol did not pick up the phone despite repeated calls by this correspondent.
Director ULBs Jammu when contacted said that order to remove all hoardings has been issued. “It is also being investigated, how and why the tenders for hoardings were given to a particular contactor”, he added. |
