| Mayor, team kick starts various development works | | |

Jammu, May 31: Continuing his drive to provide better development & civic facilities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today alongwith Surinder Choudhary, Councillor of ward no. 29 kick started the construction work of lane no. 4-C at upper Shiv Nagar Jammu of ward no. 33 by way of laying of paver tiles.
Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer, Sushil Mangotra, Junior Engineer alongwith Supervisory Staff of Engineering Division II JMC, concerned contractor, Sat Pal Khajuria, Basant Ganjoo, Atul Bakshi, Rajinder Singh, Karan Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of the ward were also remained present there.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals which has been delayed due to lockdown & corona virus pandemic and due to deteriorated condition of the lane, the passersby were facing great hardships while walking through the area and the work has been started today with an allotted amount of Rs. 4.37 lacs only.
He directed the concerned engineers to complete the work within the stipulated time frame by applying best quality construction material for its long durability & upto the satisfaction of locals well before upcoming rainy seasons.
He further said that JMC is committed to provide best quality development & civic amenities to its citizens with the active cooperation of all the councillors from the last two & half years as soon as the elected representatives came into power and appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development activities being undertaken in various wards of the city & do not use single used plastics/polythenes in their routine life, adopt the habit of segregation of dry/wet waste at their own level also, always use nearby dustbins for garbage collection, do not throw waste material, filth etc in the public drains/nallahs, plant more & more saplings in & around their surroundings where sufficient space is available for eco friendly atmosphere so that the aim of “Swachh Bharat Mission” can be achieved successfully.
Besides this, Mayor alongwith Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma, Narinder Jamwal Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee JMC also visited ward no. 70 & also kick started the remodeling, beautification & other allied works in the park situated at Sec F Sainik Colony Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that lot of initiatives have been taken by the Sainik Colony society members as well as JMC for developing all the parks of the locality & now under the prestigious project namely “My Town My Pride” the JMC has already released an amount of Rs 59 lacs for overall development of park which includes construction of new entrance gate, renovation of boundary wall, establishment of a well furnished Kanope, overall filling of the park, construction of water tank as well as installation of statue of recipient of Shaurya Chakra Subedar Major Nain Singh who scarified his life while fighting bravely with the enemies of the country.
