GMCH Jammu: Critical patient from Ramban denied treatment | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 31: An elderly person from district Ramban, who was critically suffering from prostate ailment, was not attended by the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, who was brought in emergency. The family members alleged that the doctors in the emergency ward didn’t attend the patient, who was crying in pain due to prolonged prostate ailment. The patient Sher Din (69) from district Ramban was taken to Super Speciality Hospital Jammu for treatment. They were asked that prostate surgery is urgently required for the patient and the family members were asked to go to GMC Jammu for further treatment. “We took our father to GMC Jammu in the emergency ward, where the doctor refused to attend to the patient by saying that surgeries have been stopped. Our father urgently needed prostate surgery and for that doctor had prescribed in the report, which was made nearly six month ago during the treatment in the GMC Jammu,” Shabir Ahmad and Mohammad Shafi said. They alleged that their father is very serious and he needs urgent treatment but doctors refused to attend the patient. “Even we were not even allowed to enter the emergency ward. We were given a rude reply by the doctors, who said that you might go to Health Commissioner Atal Dulloo or Prime Minister Modi for the help but we can’t attend your patient at this time,” they alleged. “We are very helpless here and don’t know what to do. Even the Ayushman Card which guarantees Rs 5 lakh free treatment, was not accepted,” they said. |
