Jammu, May 31: Ways of J&K UT administration are “quite ridiculous and uncalled” for to be termed as business as usual vis-à-vis governance. One of the striking examples, among many, has blown up recently which has put many engineers in quandary over their reshuffling and postings. The Power Department has once again hogged the headlines as it has allegedly queued up its blue eyed for benefits and sending many others to guillotine. In a recent transfer policy under the Government order 117-JK (PDD) OF 2021 dated 28-05-2021, engineers are transferred, posted and placed in a reshuffle which has hit those below the belt who had been serving at the present place of posting for less than a year even . These officials have been transferred which flouts the government guidelines itself wherein the transfer policy transparently indicates that a particular period of posting of an official of any department is at least four years. “ Then why few of us have been made sc > Reshuffles engineers within one year allegedly to benefit influential > To fill vacant positions department has elevated engineers, if some adjustment is left it can be looked into: Rohit Kansal pegoat and transferred to different places of postings as we haven’t yet completed even a year’s time at our posts,” was a unanimous grievance of Assistant Engineers of Electrical Department who have been pulled out of their places , obviously to adjust blue eyed on the prime postings. Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary Power and Information said that all engineers in the category are promoted, adjusted and a chain system ensured that standing operation procedure is followed. “We have ensured that no vacant position should be there and hence tried to elevate engineers at different levels to meet the demand. If, however, some adjustment has been left overlooked, it can be taken care of,” the Principal Secretary said. “Power Department needs to come out with a white paper on the postings and shuffling of those having served less than even one year at their present place of posting and also about those whom it has kept stationed at prime postings for more than 4 to 5 years,” appealed the grieving AEs. |
