Two drug peddlers arrested in Budgam, contraband recovered | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 2: Police on Wednesday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from him in central Kashmir district of Budgam. A police official said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established near Durbugh Chadoora in Budgam during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. ?Police intercepted a vehicle at the checkpoint and during checking recovered 198 bottles of Codeine Phosphate,? he said, adding two persons onboard were immediately taken into custody. He said the accused, identified as Shah Jahan Farooq and Irfan Ahmad Bhat, were immediately taken into custody. ?A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation initiated,? he said. He said community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social activities in their vicinity. |
