Expedite vaccination process-JK Congress tells centre | | | Early Times Report
Jammu/Srinagar, June 2: Lashing out at the central government for its alleged failure to provide required doses of vaccine to Jammu and Kashmir and claiming that the youth of 18-45 years are running from pillar to post for a slot, the Congress today impressed to make available the required quantity of vaccine for all age groups and expedite the vaccination process to cover the entire population before the anticipated third wave sets in.. Several Senior Congress Leaders of Jammu region joined the online speak up campaign of the party to impress upon the centre and UT administration to expedite the vaccination process in Jammu and Kashmir, as the youth are not getting the vaccine slots for days, disclosed JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma . Sharma said that it is the responsibility of the central government to provide the required quota of doses to the states and UT but there is acute shortage of vaccine in Jammu and Kashmir for the age group of 18-45 years and the process is very slow, which if not expedited, would take several months and our youth face the great risk. He said that the risks would be immense, if not prevented from the anticipated third wave. He said that there is huge gap of three months between first dose and the second dose of covi shield and, thus would take lot of time to secure the young population who are running from pillar to post for first dose yet. |
