Department of Urdu, GDC, Surankote organizes National level Online Quiz Competition

Jammu, June 2: The department of Urdu under the ongoing national campaign “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav “ organised a national level online quiz competition on the occasion of celebrating 75 years of Independence.
This national level online quiz competition was organized in collaboration with the Cultural and Literary Activities Committee of the College on “The role of Urdu in the Freedom Movement”. More than 188 students and scholars from different institutions of the country participated in this national level online quiz competition.
Dr Khalil Ahmad Reshi, HOD Urdu, Organizer and Convener Cultural and Literary Committee, thanked all the students and scholars who wholeheartedly participated in the said competition. Dr Reshi, in his address on the occasion, informed the participants about the role played by Urdu literature in the independence movement.
He added that it is important for every student and scholar to take part in online competitions across the country on the theme of the freedom movement ( Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav)so that they can develop a sense of patriotism as well as knowledge of the subject.
He emphasized that Urdu has become the third most widely spoken language in the world. In the present era, Urdu literature needs to be read and understood.
It can never be forgotten. And Allama Iqbal said, “Sare jahan se achcha Hindustan hamara ” Ms Khadija Zahra Qureshi, Israr Ahmed, Rashid Iqbal, Asif Iqbal, Safdar Hussain, Maqsood Ahmed and Ejaz Ahmed of Government Degree College Sarnkote, Muhammad Ashiq, Samina Kausar and Azhar Farooq Government Degree College Mendhar, Mr Abdul Rehman Sabir Government College and Darbha Institute of Science and Humanities, Amravati, Research Scholar, Sant Gadge Baba Amaravati University, Maharashtra, Fahad Ahmed Institution (SGBU).
Scholars and students from different colleges and universities of the country have shown their outstanding performance in this National level Online Quiz Competition. It was done under the overall supervision of Principal Government Degree Surankote, Dr Jasbir Singh and Literary Activities Committee member of the college Dr Naseer Ahmed.
Finally, Dr Khalil Ahmed Reshi, the organizer thanked all the colleagues and students of the college who extended their cooperation and support to the Urdu department in organizing this national-level online quiz competition in the best possible way.
