| 4 bovines rescued, vehicle seized by district police Samba | | | Early Times Report
Samba, June 3: In continuation to its drive against bovine smugglers, Samba Police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 4 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signalled to stop a Mahindra having Registration No JK08F-7141 coming from Kathua side and moving towards Srinagar. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle but the alert cops successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few metres away from the naka point. However driver managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness. During checking of the said vehicle, 4 cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 120/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started. |
