Srinagar, June 3: A soldier was on Thursday killed when his service rifle went off accidentally in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Official sources said that the soldier, identified as Sepoy Muneer Ahmad Ganie, was critically injured when his service rifle went off accidentally while he was cleaning it at an Army camp in Baramulla.
“The injured, a resident of Larikpora in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, was immediately taken to a hospital where he succumbed,” they said, adding a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up into the incident.
