SAMBA, June 3: Deputy Commissioner Samba Anuradha Gupta today said that district administration has vaccinated 98 percent 45+ population as on date and the process is on to cover the rest.
The DC was briefing media persons about the covid-19 management and control measures being taken in the District.
The positivity rate has dipped to 1% , while over2803 covid positive persons were discharged from hospitals after full recovery, the DC added.
While listing the initiatives taken by administration to strengthen covid specific treatment, she said tele-medicine/ Doctor on call’ facility on 7006006699 and dedicated helpline numbers on 01923 246942 and 01923 24600945 have been launched to facilitate the covid patients in the district. She said the Samba administration has also started the ‘prahari’ campaign to encourage voluntary services by spirited individuals in containing covid-19 spread through IEC activities.
“These initiatives taken for covid containment are bearing fruits with constant decline in covid positive cases being recorded in the district” added the DC.
“Administration has also increased testing by deploying mobile testing vans and teams for conducting tests at hotspots for breaking chain of transmission,” the DC informed further. Covid care centres, District covid hospitals, Panchayat covid care centres and triage hospitals are strengthening the medical infrastructure in the district, said the DC, while replying to queries of media persons.
