6/3/2021 11:29:56 PM

Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, June 3: The District Development Council, Chairperson, Lal Chand and Sarpanches of district Uhdampur have refuted the news report published on 2nd June, 2021, in a section of press regarding alleged ‘lack of facilitates’ in newly established COVID Care Centers at Panchayat level in the District. He said that the PRIs were at forefront in providing facilities in CCCs. “I personally visited many centres in Panchayats where the facilities were found in order that too in a short time,” he added.
The COVID Isolation Centers in all 236 Panchayats have been established in a time bound manner with active support of RDD, Health Department, PRIs and facilities such as Bedding, Oximeter, Non Contact Thermo Meter, COVID Mgt kits, Gluco Meter(in few centres) etc. have been provided in all the CICs of Panchayats, he said.
The fact got substantiated through ACD that there are 236 Panchayats comprising 17 Blocks in the District in which 236 COVID Care Centers have been activated as per Government directives regarding the facilities to be provided by RDD.
The Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, said that Medicine kits, Oximeters, Non Contact Thermometer etc have been provided in all centers besides, Wheelchairs and Oxygen Concentrators have also been managed through internal arrangements in few Panchayats and procurement for the rest is in process through JK Medical Supplies Corporation for rest of the Panchayats.
The Programme Officer, ICDS, Udhampur, has also ascertained that proper Food and other basic needs of COVID patients are being taken care through Anganwadi Workers who have been deployed in these centers already.
Further, the District Administration has issued an order (vide. no. DMU/JC/723 dt. 01/06/2021) in which Officers have been appointed to supervise the COVID Centers and to ensure proper functioning of CICs in coordination with PRIs and other stakeholder departments.
The Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, has also clarified that one telemedicine hub has already been established at District Hospital Udhampur whereas linkage at Panchayat level is being developed. He further stated that tele-consultancy is also available and has been extended to entire public of 236 centers.
The matter has been taken up with Sarpanches namely Shashi Pal, Sarpanch Kambal Danga and Rakesh Tharmatt, Sarpanch Jib-A, and they have reported that the allegations are baseless and they have not given statement regarding lack of isolation facilities in COVID Care Centers through any media persons. In fact they said they are the ones establishing these centers in the beginning.
Thus the news item published in local daily is not true as per facts on ground and is strongly refuted.
