Take cognizance of loot of taxpayers’ money by BJP leaders: Harsh to new CS
“Cleanse the Augean stables”
6/5/2021 11:56:02 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 5: Alleging conferment of multifarious facilities upon the ex-MLAs/ex-Ministers and even petty workers of BJP by the govt by abusing the public exchequer, the JKNPP Chairman and former Minister Harsh Dev Singh today appealed the new Chief Secretary to take immediate measures to check the loot of tax payer’s money by the blue eyed leaders and workers of saffron party. Addressing a press conference here today, Harsh Dev Singh expressed his dismay over the undue favours and illegitimate benefits conferred upon the political persons owing allegiance to BJP and JKAP. “It was shocking to note that BJP leaders who were not holding any position in government and fell in common man’s category were occupying not only ‘Special Type’, ‘A-type’ Estates mansions but many of them were still living in Ministerial Bungalows. And while the opposition leaders including ex-Ministers and heads of recognized political parties were hounded out of Estates quarters’ years back through police force,” said Singh. Singh said that replies received by him in response to RTIs revealed that several BJP workers have been allotted Estates Bungalows which continue to be retained by them in violation of all norms and stipulated procedures.
Not only that the Apni Party had been conferred undue favours by allotting govt accommodation for its political office by defying the orders of the High Court, said Singh, adding that not only the Estates Bungalows but the security vehicles and PSOs were also being allotted purely on political considerations. The new CS had a greater responsibility in the present scenario of cleansing the augean stables, asserted Singh. Seeking a high level probe preferably through CBI into the whole gamut of illegal allotments of govt bungalows, huge encroachments of govt lands and properties and illegal allotment of govt vehicles besides huge contingents of police for household works to BJP leaders, Singh called for punitive action against the officers who were acting more as BJP servants than public servants. He said that non-adherence to any set of norms and differential treatment of political parties by abusing of public exchequer and conferring benefits upon favourities was not only a crime but a financial scam which needed due attention of the new Chief Secretary of the UT.
Gagan Pratap Singh, Parshotam Parihar (State Secretaries-JKNPP) and Rashpaul Singh (Office Secretary-JKNPP) were also present in the press conference.
