Early Times Report

Rajouri, June 5: Putting their lives at risk, the formidable health workers have been continuously making efforts to reach out to far flung areas of tehsil Kotranak in Rajouri district by covering difficult terrain on foot to carry forward COVID inoculation drive.
A video has gone viral, wherein health workers can be seen crossing several nallahs on foot to reach out to rural areas of block Kandi of tehsil Kotranka for conducting COVID vaccination without thinking a minute about their lives.
In the video the health workers were crossing Ant Nullah of Block Kandi, where a single pole was placed on the stream to cross over it. They have been covering 10-15 kms on foot just to provide COVID-19 jab to the villagers.
It has been learnt from the health workers that at some places they were confronted by the locals due to them being unaware about COVID vaccination and they refused to take the jab.
Apart from Ant Nullah, the teams of health workers had to cross over many such other streams, including Guler, Bethan, , Lar Kutti Pani Nullahs, etc. The rural areas which were covered included Gabbar, Biji, Kangota, Maruta, Badal, Shahpur, Targain etc.
While talking to Early Times BMO Kandi, Dr Iqbal Malik said that they are committed to reach out every nook and corner of the block for COVID vaccination and their efforts will continue in future also.
