Parmaarth: Service before self organises webinar on Covid-19

Jammu, June 5: A national webinar titled "Covid-19: Myths and Facts" was conducted by the Charitable Trust, Parmaarth: Service Before Self today. The online meeting was convened with a riveting audience of over 100 participants and was presided over by Dr Shoket Chowdhary, Assistant Professor, Government Medical College Jammu.
Introductory remarks about the Trust were made by a member of Parmaarth, Bhagwati Devi, Assistant Professor, Banasthali University, Rajasthan and the programme was hosted by another member of Parmaarth, Tanvir Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University.
The Webinar was centrally focused on disabusing the rampant myths around covid-19 and vaccination and disseminating knowledge about outbreak of fungal infections in the wake of pandemic.
Throughout his enlightening address, Dr Shoket emphasized on the imperative need of awareness and social cooperation to get vaccinated crucially in order to prevent the unfortunate and unpredictable severity of Covid-19 disease. With a greater focus on second wave and a possible third wave, he highlighted the importance of strictly incorporating covid appropriate behaviour. He also discussed in greater detail about the uprising of Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) and Candidiasis (White Fungus) infections and how indiscriminate use of self medications can prove harmful in this regard, stressing upon routine and regular consultation with doctors. The session was also opened to take up queries from the audience. The event successfully culminated with a vote of gratitude by Dr Richa Sharma, Chairperson, Parmaarth. At the end of the event, e-certificates were provided to all the participants.
