Hari Singh concerned over slow pace of inoculation
6/6/2021 12:02:12 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 5: District Congress Committee (DCC) President Jammu Rural, Hari Singh Chib has raised serious concern over the slow pace of ongoing vaccination campaign in the Jammu region.
The DCC President raised this concern after facilitating vaccination of peoples of Raipur-Domana of Ward Nos 59 and 60 and interacting with people during visit to vaccination centre at PHC Toph Sherkhania along with the Corporator of the area Rajinder Singh.
He said that still people of Jammu region falling in the age group of 18 to 44 years are not getting the appointment slot for Covid vaccination and this could prove to be disastrous especially in view of the fact that some experts continue to reiterate that a third wave is anticipated to hit the country in October this year.
Hari Singh said that the heavy rush of people outside vaccine centres across Jammu, without adhering to social distancing that is mandatory goes to show that the Union Territory administration especially the concerned authorities have in fact made mockery of health management system by throwing COVID-19 SOPs to winds. What is required today is initiating requisite measures on a war footing in order to ensure that hundred percent vaccination is done across Jammu and Kashmir at least before the onset of third wave of Covid-19, he added.
The DDC President appealed to the government to expedite ongoing vaccination campaign for which there is no other option except opening maximum number of vaccination centres across the length and breadth of this Union Territory. Only then 100 per cent vaccination would be achieved and the people of Jammu and Kashmir would be saved from the dangerous effects of the anticipated third wave of Covid-19.
