12 years on, dental surgeon posts not advertised in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: Even after the transition of erstwhile J&K State into a Union Territory, hundreds of qualified dental surgeons have not been able to get a decent job. These graduate dental surgeons for the past 12-years have been running from pillar to post to get employed but all in vain. “If government has finance for medical, veterinary, Ayurveda then what is the reason there are no funds for us. We also went on a hunger strike to seek employment but no one came to us,” said a dental surgeon. They alleged that since 2008, not a single post of dental surgeon has been advertised by PSC. “After spending a lot of time in completing our studies we have not been provided with an opportunity to serve the people. The government has been advertising jobs in all sectors except dental surgeons,” they said. They further said that they are passing through a mental trauma due to of government ignoring them. They fervently appealed to LG Manoj Sinha to intervene and get the posts of dental surgeons advertised. “Last month we met with Advisor to LG RR Bhatnagar, who further called the Commissioner Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo for advertising posts. He assured us that posts will be advertised within ten days but nothing has happened,’ they added. They said whenever the file to fill up the posts of dental surgeons is sent to Finance Department, it is rejected out rightly.
