Woman sanitation worker knocks Raj Bhavan door through video message | ‘My wages are pending for 2 yrs, LG sahib please get them released’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: A woman safai karamchari engaged at Brein hospital in Srinagar district, has knocked the door of Raj Bhavan through a video message to seek release of her pending wages. Sanitation worker, Hajra Bano, in a video message has appealed to Lieutenant Government, Manoj Sinha to intervene for getting her salary released. “I appeal to LG Saheb, kindly get my pending wages since May 2019 released. It has been more than two years, when my salary was withheld by the Medical Officer, PHC Brein. I have time and again requested the officer to release my wages, but no one is listening to me,” Bano is heard saying. Instead of releasing my wages, the Medical Officer has asked me to work in the hospital free of cost. My family is dependent on my earnings (wages), if they will not pay me how can I feed my family”, the lady is heard saying. “I will commit suicide if, my wages are not released. Because without money, how can I survive?,” she asks. It is pertinent to mention here that recently a six year old girl from Kashmir in a video message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to curtail the time of online classes during the lockdown. Acting swiftly LG Manoj Sinha directed the School Education Department to curtail the class time and his directions were implemented forthwith. |
