JU organizes national level online Tree Talk competition

JAMMU, June 7: National Service Scheme (NSS), Campus Units, University of Jammu, Jammu organized “National Online Tree Talk Competition” on event of Biological Diversity Day- 2021 from 22nd May to 27th May 2021, on the theme “We’re Part of the Solution”.
The competition was open for all. A large number of NSS Volunteers, Students, Scholars and Alumni in all age groups, participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and fervor.
Jugesh Singh of Department of Geology, University of Jammu, Jammu, achieved First Position, while Second Position is achieved by Aakash Bhat from Department of Botany and Third Position was achieved by Ishta Bandral from The Law School, University of Jammu , Jammu. Certificate of Merit were shared by four participants namely Rahul Sharma of KC B.Ed. College of Education, Jammu, Moksh Bhargav and Pratyush Sharma both from The Law School, University of Jammu and Ranjana Devi, Librarian Govt. High School, Jammu. Under Special Participation category two school students also participated and Peehu Sharma from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bantalab, Jammu achieved First Position, while Second Position was achieved by Jigya Setia, Sant Nirankari Girls School, Delhi. E- Certificate of participation has also been awarded to all participants .
The Adjudicator of the competition Prof. Namrata Sharma, Department of Botany, University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of young minds.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Neeru Sharma, Convenor, NSS, Campus Units, University of Jammu, Jammu. The event was coordinated by Dr Meghna Dhar, NSS Programme Officer, University of Jammu, Jammu with the Technical Support - Vikas Pandita, Software Engineer and Sr. NSS Volunteer and Gurdarshan, NSS Volunteers, University of Jammu, Jammu.
