Reasi police arrests absconder after 22 yrs wanted for sheltering militants | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: Police on Monday said that an absconder has been arrested after 22 years wanted in a case of sheltering militants in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Shailendra Singh here said that an accused has been arrested for providing shelter and other logistics to the militants and he was underground for the last 22 years. He identified the accused Mohi-ud-din, resident of Shikari, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi . He was absconding in case dated 22-06-1999. "A case FIR was proved and challaned in the court of law but accused went underground as soon as FIR was lodged and avoided participating in the investigation proceedings," he said. A warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued by the Court against the accused and by meticulously planning and Coordinated efforts after developing input, team of Police Station Mahore arrested the criminal. This is the arrest of fourteenth absconder by Reasi Police within a period of six weeks time against whom warrants U/S 512 CrPC was pending, said the top while praising the police teams. |
