JAMMU, June 8: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) continued its protest sit-in on 206th day today near Lane No 5 and 6 of Jagti township under the leadership of JTC and SKF president Shadi Lal Pandita. Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita said that the UT and central governments should meet our demands as soon as possible. Pandita said that Jagti township is experiencing severe power cuts in this scorching heat, which is disturbing the children, the elderly and others. Pandita demanded from the government that in these hot summer days, there should be no frequent power cuts in Jagti township and clean drinking water should be provided. Pandita said that inflation has made life difficult for relief holders while the relief holders are very worried. The government should increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month immediately, he added. Pandita said that a government job should be given in those houses in which no educated unemployed youth has got a government employment till date. While other members said that Kashmir is their motherland and they want to live in Kashmir Valley They said for permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley the Government should set up three Satellite townships in three districts of Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag where at least 35,000 families can live together in each township. The members who took part in the protest included Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of JTC, Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Rakesh Ambardar, Sunil Koul, Raj Kumar Bhat, Rakesh Tickoo, Vinod Bhat, Kamal Pandita, Vijay Bakshi, Ram Krishan, Charanjeet Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Ramesh Suri and others.
