Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 11: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 92.88 percent as 1,885 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 906 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 05,772; with 17 fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,160. Srinagar district reported 156 cases followed by Budgam district 92, Baramulla district 86, Kupwara district 74, Pulwama district 63, Anantnag district 54, Kulgam and Jammu districts 53 cases each, Bandipora district 44, Poonch district 43, Rajouri district 39, Ganderbal district 31, Doda and Samba districts 21 cases each, Udhampur district 19, Ramban district 18, Kishtwar district 14, Kathua district 11, Shopian district nine and Reasi district five cases. Srinagar district reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Jammu, Rajouri and Anantnag districts two deaths each and Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban, Reasi, Kupwara, Bandipora & Shopian districts one death each. So far 2,138 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 2,022. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 906 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 244 from Jammu division and 662 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 05,772. Also 17 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, nine from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir division. Moreover, 1,885 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 712 from Jammu division and 1,173 from Kashmir division. Out of 3, 05,772 positive cases, 17,585 are active positive, 2, 84,027 have recovered and 4,160 have died; 2,022in Jammu division and 2,138 in Kashmir division. Out of 90, 83,419 test results available, 87, 77,647 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 22, 16,384 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 70,906 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17,585 in isolation and 1, 35,799 in home surveillance. Besides, 19, 87,934 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 67,915 positive cases, 2,491 active positive, 64,615 recovered, 809 deaths; Baramulla has 22,584 positive cases, 1,877 active positive, 20,435 recovered, 272 deaths; Budgam has 21,675positive cases, 1,244 active positive, 20,232 recovered, 199 deaths; Anantnag has 15,412 positive cases, 923 active positive, 14,298 recovered, 191 deaths; Pulwama has 14,294 positive cases, 1,317 active positive, 12,797 recovered, 180 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,130 positive cases, 953 active positive, 12,026 recovered, 151deaths; Kulgam has 10,630 positive cases, 1,023 active positive, 9,498 recovered, 109 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,234 positive cases, 534 active positive, 8,629 recovered, 71deaths; Bandipora has 8,917 positive cases, 382 active positive, 8,437 recovered, 98deaths and Shopian has 5,483 positive cases, 369 active positive, 5,056 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 51,931 positive cases, 2,438 active positive, 48,379 recovered, 1,114 deaths; Udhampur has 10,966 positive cases, 307 active positive, 10,528 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,306 positive cases, 632 active positive, 9,474 recovered, 200 deaths; Kathua has 9,045 positive cases, 160 active positive, 8,738 recovered, 147deaths; Samba has 6,964 positive cases, 353 active positive, 6,495 recovered, 116 deaths. “Doda has 6,277 positive cases, 1,029 active positive, 5,154 recovered, 94 deaths; Poonch has 5,784 positive cases, 792 active positive, 4,910 recovered, 82 deaths; Ramban has 5,532 positive cases, 400 active positive, 5,074 recovered, 58 deaths; Reasi has 5,476 positive cases, 162 active positive, 5,273 recovered, 41 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,217 positive cases, 199 active positive, 3,979 recovered, 39 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 05,772 positive cases, 21,828 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
