AAP demands PDD to stop unscheduled power cuts, fluctuations in Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 11: In a statement, Gurmeet Singh Aam Aadmi Party leader and social activist said that the unscheduled power cuts and fluctuations create hurdles to the people of Jammu. From the last few days unscheduled power cuts have increased by the power department from more than 7 to 8 hours and it has created a difficult situation for the people in this hot summer especially during these grim and hard time of fighting the Corona Virus. Power cuts may also prove fatal for Covid-19 patients who are on oxygen support at their homes and also expressed his concern for inadequate power supply for the patients (Covid19) who are on power-driven oxygen support. From the last few days, power is playing hide and seek in the Jammu which has badly hit the normal life. Every day, electricity goes off for hours. There is no timing. It goes off anytime, Singh said. Gurmeet Singh said that the state government should follow the Kejriwal Electricity Model in Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi is the only city in the country that enjoyed 24 hours & 200 units free electricity supply. The unscheduled power cuts by Power Development Department are giving sleepless nights to the residents of Jammu and also badly effect to the Businesses, Industries, MSME , shopkeepers, fabrication units, contractors, working professionals etc,. Also the kids who have to join online classes are facing problems. Kids have online classes and have to charge devices, without electricity, it is not possible. |
