6/11/2021 11:51:50 PM
Early Times Report

Kathua, June 11: The activists of Congress party carried out protest demonstration at Dayala Chak against rising prices of petrol, and diesel under the leadership of Former MLC Subash Gupta, on Friday. Raising slogans and holding placards the protesters demanded that the government should roll back the price hike.
Subash Gupta alleging government for increasing the hardships of the poor highlighted that how petrol and diesel prices are rising and hitting the century mark 100 per Litre.
He further said that the whole country is witnessing spiraling rise in the rates of petrol and diesel even amidst this pandemic. The historic and unsustainable rise of fuel price is happening at a time when the citizens are reeling under the impact of Covid-19 second wave. In many parts of the country the price of Petrol had breached Rs 100 mark.
This would lead to an unprecedented rise in of almost all household items and essential commodities. In the last 13 months petrol and diesel have risen by Rs 25.72 and Rs 23.93 per litre amounting to total 43 hikes in just over five months of this year alone.
“This is an example of excessive public loot facilitated by Central Government,” he irked adding that by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel again and again, Modi government has made it clear that it is not concerned about the problem of the common people.
The story of good days is reaching to its diagonally opposite end with the rise in petrol and diesel prices now all slated to affect everyday lives. Increase in fuel price will also increase in food price. This will have a more severe impact on poor people because poor households spend more than half of their income on food. It is a chain reaction once started will affect all in the days to come.
He further said that escalating hardships of public and lackadaisical attitude of the government toward the redressal of the problems had proved that the union government had turned Nelsons’ eye towards public.
The Congress activists also warned of intensifying the struggle if government fails to redress the sufferings and demands of the people.
Prominent among others who participated in the protest include Yugal Kishore Bali, Kulbir Singh Pathania, Vinay Sharma, Rajiv Gupta, Master Sat Pal Sharma, Swarn Singh, Narinder Rathore, Parkash chand, Ruldoo Ram, Murari Lal, Parveen Bhagat, Romesh Kundal, Parmjeet Singh, Harbhajan Saini, Bhagwan Dass, Bittu Sharma, Rameshwer Sharma Bunty, Ram Pal, Subash Chander, Dayal, Anil Kumar, Kalu Ram, Thuru Badyal, and many others.
