AIMCCC laments PDD for unscheduled power cuts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 11: It is unfortunate that despite making advance payment of electricity charges in full by the central government through Relief & Rehabilitation Department Jammu to Power Development Department (PDD) Jammu, there are hourly curtailments in KP Colonies, Camps and non-camps for the last few days, lamented All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC). In a press statement issued here today, the AIMCCC said that in this scorching heat when temperature has gone very high with humid atmosphere, one cannot bear frequent and unscheduled power cuts in such highly congested colonies or houses. The power cuts have adversely affected the people as there are corona positive cases battling for life and are on oxygen saturation machines running on electricity besides senior citizens and people suffering with chronic health ailments who have very low immunity/resistance, it added. AIMCCC said one fails to understand the attitude of the PDD Jammu towards the present situation which has become totally intolerable. We warn PDD Jammu and administration to change its attitude otherwise people particularly the Jagti inmates will come on roads to protest against this unscheduled curtailment, said the AIMCCC statement. |
