Asha workers hold protest in Thathri, demands hike in Salary | | | EArly Times Report
Kishtwar, June 14: A protest march was today held by Asha workers of Sub Division Thathri from Truma Center Thathri toward Main Market and back to SDM Office Thathri demanding hike in the monthly salary cum honorarium. As per the details available with EarlyTimes, the Asha workers from Kahara, Mohalla, Thathri and other areas of Health Block Thathri gathered at Thathri protest site and held the strong protest in support of their demands. They also submitted the memorandum to SDM Thathri which reads that the Asha workers gets Rs 2000 per month salary which is not enough for them added that same is also the violation of minimum wages act applicable in the Jammu and Kashmir following the reorganisation bill that converts J&K state into union territory. The Asha workers are working in the field selflessly especially in COVID pandemic, where they used to do COVID surveys, vaccination and more. They urged LG Manoj Sinha and concerned authorities to increase the salary of all Asha workers. SDM Thatri Athar Amin Zargar gives patience hearing to the issues and demands put forth by them before him and assured them that he will take up the matter with higher authorities and will also forward the memorandum to the senior officials for further perusal to the matter.
