SRINAGAR, June 14: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 94.24 percent as 2,139 patients recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 599 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 08,011; following nine fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,195. Srinagar district reported 161 cases followed by Kupwara district 62, Budgam district 60, Baramulla district 38, Pulwama district 37, Rajouri and Anantnag districts 33 cases each, Doda district 27, Jammu district 22, Bandipora district 19, Kulgam and Reasi districts 17 cases each, Poonch district 15, Udhampur district 13, Samba district 11, Kishtwar district 10, Ramban district eight, Ganderbal district seven, Kathua district five and Shopian district four cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 599 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 161 from Jammu division and 438 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 08,011. Also, nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported, four from Jammu division and five from Kashmir division. Moreover, 2,139 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 729 from Jammu division and 1410 from Kashmir division. One new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 20 in J&K. Besides this, 76.47 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 08,011 positive cases, 13,532 are active positive, 2, 90,284 have recovered and 4,195 have died; 2,041 in Jammu division and 2,154 in Kashmir division. Out of 92, 14,386 test results available, 89, 06,375 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 22, 44,233 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 59,714 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 13,532 in isolation and 1, 51,511 in home surveillance. Besides, 20, 15,281 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 68,389 positive cases, 2,039 active positive, 65,535 recovered, 815 deaths; Baramulla has 22,726 positive cases, 1,045 active positive, 21,408 recovered, 273 deaths; Budgam has 21,889 positive cases, 1,000 active positive, 20,690 recovered, 199 deaths; Anantnag has 15,555 positive cases, 886 active positive, 14,476 recovered, 193 deaths; Pulwama has 14,451 positive cases, 1,262 active positive, 13,008 recovered, 181 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,324 positive cases, 832 active positive, 12,338 recovered, 154 deaths; Kulgam has 10,719 positive cases, 553 active positive, 10,057 recovered, 109 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,294 positive cases, 390 active positive, 8,830 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 9,008 positive cases, 332 active positive, 8,578 recovered, 98 deaths and Shopian has 5,503 positive cases, 219 active positive, 5,226 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,025 positive cases, 1,607 active positive, 49,301 recovered, 1,117 deaths; Udhampur has 11,001 positive cases, 228 active positive, 10,642 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,407 positive cases, 454 active positive, 9,749 recovered, 204 deaths; Kathua has 9,070 positive cases, 115 active positive, 8,806 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,003 positive cases, 264 active positive, 6,621 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,404 positive cases, 910 active positive, 5,396 recovered, 98 deaths; Poonch has 5,858 positive cases, 740 active positive, 5,032 recovered, 86 deaths; Ramban has 5,612 positive cases, 353 active positive, 5,201 recovered, 58 deaths; Reasi has 5,521 positive cases, 155 active positive, 5,325 recovered, 41 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,252 positive cases, 148 active positive, 4,065 recovered, 39 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 08,011 positive cases, 21,871 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
