FOB Rajouri, PIB Jammu commemorates freedom fighter, poet ‘Ram Prasad Bismil’

Jammu, Jun 14: Field Outreach Bureau, Rajouri in coordination with Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India today organised a poetry session on the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by commemorating the freedom fighter & poet ‘Ram Prasad Bismil’.
The webinar involved the famous poets and educationists like K.D. Maini, Sheikh Sajjad Hussain, Pradeep Khanna, Professor Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal Government Degree College, Poonch, Professor Shehzad Bandey & Professor Fateh Mohammad Abbasi.
In her address, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau, Jammu and Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K & Ladakh paying rich tributes to the freedom fighter, Ram Prasad Bismil, said that the biggest aim of conducting this kind of an online poetry session under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' is to make youth aware about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters during the freedom struggle of the country against the British colonialism.
Professor Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal, Government Degree College, Poonch appreciated Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K for conducting such online sessions and said that the nation owes all this in a substantial measure to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the betterment of our tomorrow.
Professor Shehzad Banday, during the session discussed the life and struggle of Ram Prasad Bismil during the freedom struggle of India and said that his revolutionary poetic calibre has no comparison even now and that lasted up to his death.
The prominent poets and writers who participated in the poetry session, K.D.Maini, Pradeep Khanna, Sheikh Sajjad Hussain and Professor Fateh Mohammad Abbasi paid rich tributes to Ram Prasad Bismil and recited many poems written in his honour.
Besides students, the online poetry session was attended by Sheikh Mudasir Amin, Media & Communications Officer, Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag, Khursheed Yousuf, Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur & Shri Adil Shameem Andrabi, Filed Exhibition Officer, Jammu. District Information Officer, Rajouri, Shri Narendra Kumar also extended his support in conducting this online poetry session.
