JKNPP protests against electricity crisis in Distt Samba
6/15/2021 12:05:12 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

SAMBA, June 14: Launching a scathing attack on the JK UT Government for its gross failure in providing relief to the people of Jammu region from the ongoing power crisis, Panthers Party activists spearheaded by former minister Yashpal Kundal and Distt president Rajeshwer Singh, the Young Panthers today staged a protest here in Samba.
The angry protesters raised slogans against UT Government. Yashpal Kundal while addressing the media regretted that the acute power crisis has not only made the life of a common man miserable in the towns and cities but also remote areas. He warned the Power Development Department (PDD) to face the music of an enraged public in case the regular and un-interrupted power supply was not restored at the earliest.
Lambasting the Government for its highly biased approach, he pointed out that the power consumption between Jammu and Kashmir regions is in the proportion of 40:60 respectively but when it comes to revenue realization, Jammu shares more than 66% of power tariff while paltry 34% come from Kashmir province.
Yashpal Kundal warned the Government to check the power fluctuations which has damaged several electronic equipments besides several household appliances of the people. The people of the border areas remain in darkness and heat the whole night. But when people go and complained against department, there is no hearing anywhere.
Kundal said that the people have now woken up, and the people have made up their mind to teach the BJP a lesson. In the upcoming assembly elections, the public will clean the BJP.
